My heart was pounding!!!!
Just wanted to let you in on a little story. My new neighbor friend (just moved in last summer) had been shooting his bow with his friends day after day. I got interested but couldn't try their bows cause all of them we're lefties "southpaws" as they call it. I was unsure about buying before trying. I was always against bow hunting thinking that the deer suffers and that they get away. My friend "ryan" assured me that this is not the case. With pratice and patience a bow is just as deadly as a gun, he had pics to prove it So I started looking at the local bulletin board finally called about a Parker "ultra light". I bought it about one week before opening bow seasoning. It was "naked" so i went to local hunting store "dominion outdoors" set me up. With opening seasoning days away, I started shooting his (ryan) 3d target with no intention of going the 1st day. After letting the first arrow fly (since i didn't know what to expect) I was hooked. I practice next 3 days with his help, I was hitting bull's eye (killzone) on deer, felt good enough to go. In stand 1st thing saturday mourning had 2 does & 2 bucks (8pt) come in on me. My heart was pounding!!!! 20 yds broadside Guess what happens next? My bow is hanging on the tree i'm sitting in. "mistake" Watch too much tv (that's where i got the idea). He felt something was up when i went to get my bow. So the rest of day i'm kicking myself in my butt. To end this story one week later i smoked a 8pt buck ( I think same one) at about 20yds after walking right under my treestand "patience" I'm looking at buying a 3d target since my friend has moved away. Any suggestions Glenbuck? not rutting one its too big I think. A big thanks to my friend ryan for getting me interested and to you "PARKER" for helping me down my first bow-hunt buck. My only second ever deer both being 8 pointers. "patience" i been hunting about 8 years. Looking forward to the 2009 season. Just saturday my wife seen the pink bow now she is highly interested. Thanks Parker Bows Excited new bowhunter Jason Coeyman Fishersville,VA (01/04/2009) |
