I began bowhunting in 1989 to increase my hunting opportunities. I was now able to hunt deer for 3 months, instead of 5 days with a shotgun. Little did I know how much fun it was going to be!! There was a huge learning curve, and it took me a few years to be able to successfully harvest an animal with a bow. It was a doe whitetail that I will never forget. I took it off the ground at 15 yards, while stillhunting in northern Ontario. I was definitely hooked then, and proceeded to take numerous black bears with a bow over the next few years. I then progressed to hunting moose with a bow, and shot a nice bull the first morning out. I take great pride in teaching others about our great sport, and have instructed a Women in the Outdoors group of 40+ in the use of archery equipment, as well as many friends and family along the way, including my wife of 18 years Carol, and 2 great kids, Casey-16, and Billy-14. When representing my sponsors at 3D shoots, trade shows and retail locations, I like to take a down to earth approach to my explanation of products and their use. I find people really like someone who can relate to their situation, and can explain things in layman's terms, without getting caught up in all of the technical jargon, but still be able to provide all of the necessary information.
